Born Anna-Lou Leibovitz in Waterbury, Connecticut, Annie
continues to Rock us with her uniquely powerful Portraiture. She enrolled at the San Francisco Art Institute, with plans to become a Painter. Boy, are we glad she picked up that Cannon! of course I am quite sure she would have been a phenomenal Painter as well, but her decision to become a Photographer has made its mark. Google her today and up comes 21,400 results in less than a second!.

Best recognized for her Iconographic Covers for Rolling Stone in the through the 1980s, Annie has gone on to do many different projects as well.
A major retrospective of her work work was held at the Brooklyn Museum, Oct. 2006 – Jan. 2007. The retrospective was based on her book, Annie Leibovitz: A Photographer's Life, 1990–2005.

At times, the viewer may be struck by a blow of pure honesty, depicted in a style of stark, finely executed Portraiture, as in the Portrait, Left of Iggy Pop. Other images may include a highly styled set reflecting intimate details of the unique personalities she has worked with.
On December 8, 1980, Leibovitz did a shoot for Rolling Stone with John Lennon. Lennon insisted that both he and wife Yoko Ono be on the cover, instead of a shot of John alone, as the Magazine had planned.
Said Annie: I think it was amazing to
look at the Polaroid and they were
both very excited. John said,
'You've captured our relationship
exactly. Promise me it'll be
on the cover.'I looked him in
the eye,and we shook on it."[7]
Leibovitz was the last person to
professionally photograph Lennon
-he was killed five hours later.[8]
Leibovitz photographed the Rolling Stones
in 71-72 in San Francisco, Later she
was their 75 Concert tour Photographer.
